Over 80 people attended a reception with Dr. and Mrs. Hurwitz on January 9, 2014 in Surprise, Arizona hosted by Valley of the Sun chapter of the Gallaudet University Alumni Association. Dr. Hurwitz gave an inspiring overview of what has happened at Gallaudet during his tenure as well as Gallaudet University's increasingly important relationship with the DC community, and outlined plans and challenges for the future. He encouraged chapter members to actively promote Gallaudet University in our community. Vicki gave an informative presentation about the history of the President's house and the newly-established museum, and encouraged chapter members to participate in Gallaudet's 150th Anniversary events.
